In observance of National Healthcare Decisions Day, The Kenosha Advance Care Planning Community Collaborative is hosting an event to encourage local residents to complete an Advance Directive.
The program, scheduled for Thursday, April 16, invites community members over the age of 18 to learn about the importance of Advance Care Planning, which helps individuals articulate their values and preferences for future medical care.
The event will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Froedtert South Kenosha Clinic, ABC Conference Room, located at 6308 8th Ave, Kenosha. A light lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with the main program kicking off at 1:00 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear personal testimonials from community members about what completing an Advance Directive has meant to them. Following the sharing session, there will be a guided walkthrough of the Health Care Power of Attorney document. Witnesses will be available on-site for those ready to finalize their paperwork.
The Collaborative is a joint effort by professionals from Kenosha Community Advocates, Froedtert South, and Hospice Alliance.
Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP for the light lunch by calling (262) 652-4482 x 1268.
