Kenosha Kindness Week events sought for 30th Annual celebration, Jan. 17-24, 2026

Businesses, organizations, and community members are invited to host public events for the 30th Annual Kenosha Kindness Week, a countywide celebration of compassion and connection, held January 17–24, 2026 in honor of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Coordinated by a subcommittee of the Kenosha Coalition for Dismantling Racism (KCCDR), this year’s milestone celebration carries the theme:“Empowering Kenosha County: One Kind Act at a Time.”

“Residents, businesses, schools, churches, and organizations across Kenosha County are encouraged to participate in a weeklong celebration of kindness in all its forms,” said Adelene Greene, chairperson of Kenosha Kindness Week. “This year’s theme highlights the power of everyday actions to build a more inclusive, equitable, and caring community.”

The Kindness Week Committee is compiling a calendar of public events to be shared throughout the community. The deadline to submit an event for inclusion is December 6. To submit an event, contact Sarah Marbes at marbess@gtc.edu.

A featured event of the week is the Community Unity Breakfast & Awards Recognition Ceremony, held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 17 at the Bradford High School cafeteria, 3700 Washington Road. This free, public gathering brings neighbors together to celebrate the spirit of kindness. During the breakfast, Kenosha County students will be honored for their written and creative arts submissions inspired by this year’s theme.

“Kindness Week is a reminder that we all have a role to play in shaping a more just and compassionate Kenosha,” Greene added. “This 30-year legacy is a testament to what’s possible when we lead with love and act with purpose.”
