A free workshop on the topic of Medication Safety, focusing on older adults, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, at Aurora Medical Center, 12500 Aurora Drive, Pleasant Prairie. The workshop will be led by Melissa T. Ballak-Moe, PharmD, MBA, BCGP, Clinical Pharmacist II, Pharmacy Integrated Clinical Services (PICS). The workshop is the February event cosponsored by the Kenosha County Association of Home and Community Education (HCE).
The workshop will be held at the Pleasant Prairie Medical Center Conference Room (located behind the guest desk). Ballak-Moe will review common classes of medications and common over-the-counter products that can increase the risk of falls and varied side effects of these medications.
Ballak-Moe will offer an interactive chat where the listeners have questions and welcome an open discussion regarding medication safety. This program is free and open to the public. Free blood pressure screening will be offered before,during,and after the program. A small café is on site that serves mostly Starbucks beverages and light food options.
