The Kenosha County Division of Behavioral Health Services is hosting a community listening
session to collect public input on the use of the opioid settlement funds that the county is
receiving from pharmaceutical companies.
This session will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, in the Hearing Room at the
Kenosha County Center, located at highways 45 and 50 in Bristol.
Feedback collected at the session will be incorporated into an ongoing research project that aims
to determine how to invest these funds in a meaningful way, said Kari Foss, director of the
Division of Behavioral Health Services.
“We are in a situation where we have access to resources to help mitigate the opioid crisis that
communities across the country have found themselves in,” Foss said. “But each community is
unique, so we need to hear from our residents about solutions and strategies that will have the
greatest impact in Kenosha County.”
Foss said members of the treatment and recovery communities are encouraged to attend, as is
anyone whose life has been affected by the opioid crisis.
People who attend the listening session will also have the opportunity to receive Narcan training
and information about other behavioral health resources.
“If you have thoughts on what this community needs to fight the opioid epidemic, this is the time
to share your thoughts,” Foss said. “We want to hear from you.”™
