Hawthorn Hollow’s Walk in the Woods Art Fair Returns September 12

Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum is proud to announce the return

of its annual Walk in the Woods Art Fair on Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This popular

late summer event will bring nearly 80 talented artists to Hawthorn Hollow, where they will display and

sell their work along the sanctuary’s scenic trails.

Visitors can stroll through the grounds while browsing a wide variety of original artwork, including

paintings, sculptures, pottery, furniture, artistic photography and much more. With artists showcasing their

work throughout the property, the event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy art while experiencing the

natural beauty of Hawthorn Hollow.

Although art is at the heart of the Walk in the Woods, there will be plenty more to see, hear and enjoy

throughout the day. Live music will be featured throughout the event, with performances by Rusty Horse,

Blue Moon Posse, Bone Appetit and Kevin Grissom. Dave Ramey of the Chicago Gumbo podcast will

also be spinning tunes at the diner.

Attendees can take a break from shopping to enjoy a selection of food and beverages at one of our

concession stands, including wine and craft beers available for purchase. There will also be a kid’s tent with

face painting, nature play, storytelling, and other fun activities. For the first time, there will also be a teacher

in the one-room schoolhouse as well as a tintype photographer! Whether visitors come to find a one-of-a-

kind piece of art, listen to live music, enjoy a meal or simply spend the day exploring the grounds, the Walk

in the Woods offers something for everyone.

Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum is a 90+ acre preserve that has been free and open to

the public for more than 50 years. Education has been at the heart of Hawthorn Hollow’s mission since its

founding, with programs ranging from school field trips to adult and family classes in disciplines including

crafting, cooking and nature education. The sanctuary’s rental event facility, the Ozanne Outpost, has also

become a popular venue for weddings, gatherings, meetings and conferences.

The Walk in the Woods Art Fair will take place Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person, cash only. No carry-ins are permitted.
