COMMUNITY MOURNS THE TRAGIC LOSS OF KENOSHA NATIVE AND MILLIGAN UNIVERSITY CYCLIST HAYLAN ENGDAHL

The Kenosha community, alongside the regional and collegiate cycling communities, is mourning the tragic passing of Haylan Engdahl, who was killed during a morning team cycling ride.

A graduate of Christian Life High School in Kenosha and a sophomore at Milligan University, Engdahl was remembered by friends, family, and teammates as a vibrant, kind, and deeply passionate individual whose presence lit up every room he entered.

Engdahl was an accomplished, versatile cyclist who competed across multiple disciplines, including mountain biking, cyclocross, and criterium road racing. Beyond his impressive athletic talent, endurance, and power, he was known for his infectious smile, humor, and unwavering enthusiasm for life.

“His passion for cycling was a huge part of who he was, and he was treasured by friends and by the cycling community,” stated representatives organizing support for the family. “Haylan touched lives simply by being Haylan, through his smile, his humor, his kindness, and his incredible enthusiasm for life.”

To support Engdahl’s parents and brother during this unimaginable time, a community fundraising effort has been launched to assist the family with upcoming financial burdens and offer a tangible display of solidarity.
