Years in the making, the bronze statue of television star and Kenosha native Al Molinaro will be unveiled May 13 in front of The Port of Kenosha Beverage House, 714 50th Street, in Downtown Kenosha.
Craig Pias, the owner of The Port of Kenosha Beverage House, spent years raising the funds for the statue. The statue artist is Bee Krueger, who will be attending the unveiling ceremony. The Ktown Connects podcast duo Donny Stancato and Jason Hedman are hosting the ceremony.
What inspired Craig to start the fundraiser for a bronze statue of Al Molinaro? According to Craig, “Keith Pauley made a post on Facebook, asking everyone’s opinion on if there was a statue to be erected of a local Kenosha celebrity, who should it be? Among some answers were Don Ameche, Daniel J. Travanti, and Orson Welles. My vote, and the majority of votes, went to Al Molinaro.”
Craig reached out to Al Molinaro’s widow, Betty, and she gave her permission.
