U.S. News & World Report has recognized Kenosha County’s Brookside Care Center as the “Best Nursing Home for Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care” for 2025.
The annual Best Nursing Home Rankings, now in their 14th year, assist prospective residents and their families in making informed decisions regarding short-term or long-term nursing home care.
For 2025, U.S. News evaluated over 15,000 nursing homes based on criteria such as care, safety, infection rates, staffing, and health inspections. Only 16% of U.S. skilled nursing facilities were awarded the “Best Nursing Home” designation this year.
Brookside Care Center received the highest possible rating of “Highly Performing” in both the short-term rehabilitation and long-term care categories. This distinction made Brookside the sole facility in Kenosha County to achieve this recognition in either category.
“I am honored that Brookside has been recognized with the top honors in this comprehensive, national review of nursing home quality,” stated Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman. “Brookside is a true gem in our community, boasting a dedicated staff and a longstanding commitment to providing exceptional care.”
Brookside has previously been recognized in U.S. News ratings and in other national publications’ listings of the nation’s top nursing homes.
In August 2023, Brookside Care Center received a deficiency-free review from the state agency responsible for regulating nursing homes. This comprehensive review assessed health and life safety compliance over a 15-month period commencing in April 2022.
“I am immensely proud of Brookside and the dedicated staff who contribute to its exceptional reputation,” expressed Robert W. Pitts, Chairman of the Brookside Board of Trustees.
Brookside, the nursing home of choice in Kenosha County, has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its outstanding performance. This latest honor further underscores Brookside’s commitment to providing exceptional care for its residents.
The 154-bed facility offers a range of unique features that set it apart from other nursing homes. These include:
– Private rooms for all residents, with some offering private bathrooms.
– Higher staff-to-resident ratios, ensuring personalized care.
– A homelike environment, with all rooms renovated in recent years.
– Exceptional dining, featuring multiple entrée options for every meal.
“As U.S. News & World Report recognizes, Brookside excels in numerous areas and is a valuable asset to the Kenosha County community,” emphasized Lynda Bogdala, Brookside Administrator. “I encourage families to visit and experience the exceptional care and amenities we offer at this outstanding facility.”
