Kenosha HarborMarket returns outdoors for its 22nd season starting Saturday, May 11th, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., located at 2nd Avenue and 56th Street, one block west of the City of Kenosha Civil War Museum and Public Museum, and along Place de Douai.
“This will be the largest opening day in Kenosha HarborMarket’s history, with more than 110 vendors in more than 135 booths” Kenosha HarborMarket Executive Director Andrea Forgianni said. “People will see many of the beloved, long-time vendors, but they will also see more than 25 vendors who are new to HarborMarket. It’s going to be full of fresh and hand made foods, unique crafts and lots of fun.”
The public is advised to arrive hungry, Forgianni said.
“There will be more than 30 prepared food vendors, and, really any kind of food you can think of will be represented, from Afghan food, Filipino food, and gourmet French fries,” Forgianni said. Breakfast foods, including made to order waffles, pancakes and crepes, as well as Asian and Latin American foods, sausages, Polish, Hungarian, Hawaiian and BBQ, she said. In addition to coffee, there will also be kombucha and lemonade on opening day, Forgianni added.
Adults and children will enjoy visiting the Kenosha Public Library’s Bookmobile, she said.
“A favorite attraction for children on hand for HarborMarket’s opening day will be the giant bubbles demonstration by Beyond Bubbly,” Forgianni said.
And, April Showers are responsible for bringing May flowers to Kenosha HarborMarket because there will be beautiful spring boquets available to purchase. There will be some annual flowers for sale on opening day, and the popular Four Seasons Garden Club Plant Sale will be Saturday, May 18th, Forgianni said.
Music is a highlight at every Kenosha HarborMarket, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.. The opening day musical acts will be Evening Breeze, featuring R&B, Soul and originals, on 2nd Avenue, and Rocky Rose, a Country and originals group, along Place de Douai.
