The Kenosha Yacht Club is proud to announce its collaboration with the United States Power Squadrons (USPS) in hosting a Person Overboard Seminar aimed at enhancing safety practices among boaters and sailors. Scheduled for Wednesday, April 24th, this seminar promises to deliver vital knowledge and practical skills crucial for responding effectively to overboard situations.
Boating enthusiasts and seasoned sailors alike are invited to join this educational event, which will be held at the Kenosha Yacht Club located at 5130 4th Avenue in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The seminar will commence at 6:30 PM, with ample time allocated for attendee discussion and interaction.
Recognizing the importance of swift and coordinated actions in person overboard scenarios, the seminar will cover a wide array of topics, including:
Initiating immediate response procedures.
Utilizing essential equipment such as life rings, throw bags, and rescue lines.
Implementing effective communication strategies among crew members.
Executing recovery maneuvers safely and efficiently.
Methods of recovering the person overboard.
Attendees can expect to gain invaluable insights from experienced instructors, renowned for their expertise in boating safety and seamanship.
