KR Bluegrass playing rescheduled Pike River Benefit Concert at Hawthorn Hollow on Friday, September 22

Hawthorn Hollow’s 2023 Pike River Benefit Concert Series, presented by Once Upon a Child and Stein’s Aircraft, will wrap up with with the down-home pickin’ and grinnin’ of KR Bluegrass on Friday, September 22 at 6pm.

KR Bluegrass is a group of musicians from southeastern Wisconsin. The band members were regulars at weekly jams where friendships developed because of their mutual love of old time gospel and bluegrass music. KR Bluegrass’ music is influenced by the Stanley Brothers, Carter and Cox families and Ricky Skaggs. Their style is simple and true, with the close harmonies of Rose and Kathy and the “Earl Scrugg” style banjo playing of Mike. This show is rescheduled after the originally scheduled concert in July had to be cancelled for rain.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the door (cash only, please). Gates open at 5 pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Carry in food and beverages are not allowed. All proceeds benefit Hawthorn Hollow.
