DOWNTOWN RACINE TO HOST FIRST FRIDAY ON SEPT. 1  WITH A “SCOOP THE LOOP” THEME

 Mark your calendars for Friday, Sept. 1st from 4pm-9pm for Downtown Racine’s First Friday. It will have a “Scoop the Loop” 50’s theme and will have something for everyone from live 50s & 60s music with a twist, classic car show, live music galore and merchants will be rolling out the red carpet with retro-themed specials and promos.

 

“First Fridays has been a local favorite event and has won the Journal Times Best of Racine’s award for ‘Free Entertainment’ multiple years,” stated DRC executive director, Kelly Kruse. New this year, each month will have a different, exciting theme, stated Kelly Kruse, executive director at the DRC.

 

Monument Square will have live music by The Throwbacks as well as a classic car show displaying 50s and 60s vehicles reminiscent of when Racine residents used to “Scoop the Loop” in Downtown Racine. There will be multiple vendors with beer, food, merchandise and more.

 

Live music will be also be playing at Marci’s on Main, Smoke’d on the Water, Reefpoint Brew House, Dimple’s Imports, Taste of Soul 262, The Nash, and Uncorkt.

“We are excited to offer yet another free, family-friendly event in Downtown which will showcase our outstanding shops and restaurants. said Kelly Kruse, Executive Director of the DRC.

 

Please note, Main Street will be closed from 2pm-9pm for the stunt show. Parking available at the McMynn Ramp, 3rd & Lake Ramp, Shoop (Main & State), and Festival Hall ramp, which includes 8 EV charging stations. All ramps are $2 all day.
