Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman and County Board Chairman Mark Nordigian
tonight released the following comments after the board’s 23-0 vote to adopt the 2027 county
budget:
“The budget that the County Board adopted tonight continues our commitment to public safety
and human services, and it does so in a fiscally responsible way. It keeps Kenosha County on
track to maintain its top-level AAA bond rating, while funding the essential services that people
depend upon.
“The County Board’s unanimous support of the budget is a testament to the strong collaboration
between my administration and the board. I appreciate the board’s engagement and sharing of
ideas over the many months of planning for this budget, and I look forward to continuing this
partnership in the future.”
Nordigian also praised the board and county staff for their involvement in the budget process.
“I want to personally thank all of the board members, Youth In Governance, staff, and the county
executive for the hard work, dedication, and commitment everyone has put in — especially the
newer supervisors who were able to voice their opinion on these budgets in their individual
committee hearings as well as at any of the Finance and Administration hearings,” Nordigian
said.
“Thank you very much — I look forward to continuing to work together.”
