Tomorrow night, White Lilac turns back the clock to the summer of 1947—when a little Chicago label called Aristocrat Records began capturing a raw new electric sound that would eventually become the legendary Chess Records.

Led by upright bassist and vocalist Jon Mroz—known for the Swingin’ Kools and today’s acclaimed Troubadours of Rhythm—the Bull Fiddle Four features some of the Midwest’s most accomplished roots musicians, including 2025 WAMI-winning harmonica player Big Al Dorn, a protégé of blues great Jim Liban.

This is not simply another blues cover band. It is a journey into the music, stories and atmosphere that gave rise to the electrified sounds of Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rogers and Little Walter—and changed American music forever.
