Community Dementia Live Program on July 29

Hospice Alliance, the leading provider of hospice care in Southeastern Wisconsin, is inviting the public to step into the shoes of those living with cognitive decline. On Wednesday, July 29, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the organization will host a free Dementia Live program at its Pleasant Prairie business office.

While Hospice Alliance has traditionally reserved this specialized training for senior care professionals throughout Kenosha and Racine counties, this upcoming event marks a vital shift toward building a more dementia-friendly community for everyone.

“Family members, friends, neighbors, and everyday community members interact with individuals facing dementia every day,” said a spokesperson for Hospice Alliance. “By opening this immersive experience to the public, we hope to foster deeper empathy, reduce stigma, and provide valuable insights into the daily challenges faced by our loved ones and neighbors.”

What to Expect: An “Inside-Out” Understanding

Dementia Live is a powerful, hands-on simulation that offers a unique, “inside-out” perspective on dementia and aging.

  • The Experience: Participants take part in a brief, 30-minute interactive session designed to simulate the sensory and cognitive challenges associated with dementia.

  • The Impact: Attendees will leave with a heightened awareness and practical insight, equipping them to better support and communicate with individuals living with cognitive conditions.

Event Details & Registration

The event is entirely free and open to all community members, but pre-registration is required as space for the 30-minute sessions is limited.

  • Date: Wednesday, July 29, 2026

  • Time: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Participants will be scheduled for a 30-minute slot)
