Representatives from United Way of Kenosha County, the Mahone Foundation, and BCU Credit Union—based in Vernon Hills, Ill., with a new location in Kenosha—will join teachers, students, and administrators from Curtis Strange and Southport elementary schools for the Mahone Foundation and BCU Gifts 4 Kids holiday gift distribution on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Media is invited to attend either of the following gift distribution events:
-
9 a.m. – Curtis Strange Elementary School, 5414 49th Ave.
-
2 p.m. – Southport Elementary School, 723 76th St.
“The Mahone Foundation, working with United Way of Kenosha County and Curtis Strange and Southport elementary schools, provided BCU with a list of 75 needed gift items,” said Tim Mahone, chairman of the Mahone Foundation. “The event aligns perfectly with the community mission of both the Mahone Foundation and BCU.”
The BCU Giving Tree is an annual holiday gift drive that provides gifts to individuals and families in need. Gift ideas were printed on tags and placed on the Giving Tree at BCU’s corporate office in Vernon Hills.
“Our employees grabbed a tag or two and purchased the gifts,” said Leslie LaSota, member of the BCU Volunteerism Committee.
More than 100 gifts will be distributed to students at the two Kenosha elementary schools during the Dec. 16 events.
