Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman invites military veterans, service
members, and their families to enjoy a free day of climbing and camaraderie at Boundless
Adventures in Bristol Woods Park on Friday, Sept. 19.
This annual tradition offers two-hour climbing sessions in the aerial adventure park from 3:30 to
10 p.m. for active-duty personnel, reservists, veterans, and up to two family members each. The
last climbing session will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The evening will feature light refreshments and a ceremony at 6 p.m. with guest speakers
honoring the service and sacrifice of our military community. Local veteran-focused
organizations will also be on-site to share information about programs and resources.
“Each year, the Veterans Climb is an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to our veterans and active-
duty military,” Kerkman said. “Thank you to Boundless Adventures and all of the event partners
who have again come together to present this terrific event.”
Civilians are welcome to join the climb for $45 per person, with proceeds this year benefiting
Veterans of Foreign War Father Matthias Zerfas Post 11279 in Twin Lakes. Space is limited for
both free and paid climbing, and advance registration is required.
Registration links for military/family participants and civilian climbers can be found at
https://bit.ly/2025VeteransClimb. Those without internet access may call the Kenosha County
Division of Veterans Services at 262-605-6690.
Boundless Adventures, a public-private partner of Kenosha County Parks, has hosted free
military and veteran climb events since opening in 2019.
“The brave men and women who have and continue to serve our country deserve thanks, not just
today, but every day,” said Brian Funtleyder, who owns the business with his wife, Lorrie.
“We
deeply appreciate their bravery and commitment to sustaining our nation’s core values.”
