Kenosha County Parks is bringing back its annual Picnic in the Park celebration on
Saturday, Aug. 16, at Petrifying Springs Park, County Executive Samantha Kerkman announced
today.
This free, family-friendly event will feature a variety of activities, including live music, games
and inflatables for kids, food trucks, and booths from local nonprofit organizations offering
education and engagement opportunities.
As part of the celebration, food trucks will also be onsite thanks to a partnership with the
Petrifying Springs Biergarten.
The festivities begin at 4 p.m., with fireworks to close out the night at dusk. Activities will take
place near the Biergarten on the south end of Petrifying Springs Park, 5555 Seventh St., Somers.
“Picnic in the Park is always a highlight of the busy summer in our Kenosha County Parks, and
this year is no exception,” Kerkman said. “We’re excited to offer this free evening of
entertainment and family fun to our county residents and visitors alike.”
Live music will include Brewtown Beat, a popular Milwaukee-based ska band, starting at 4 p.m.,
followed by Relativity, a high-energy rock and variety group, at 6:30 p.m.
Shuttle services will be available to help guests reach the Biergarten and surrounding parking
areas. Additional parking and shuttles will run from University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lots B
