Kenosha County Announces Memorial Day Weekend Events Honoring Veterans

Memorial Day will be observed with a series of commemorative events across Kenosha County over the upcoming holiday weekend. These programs, compiled by the Kenosha County Division of Veterans Services, provide opportunities for the community to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s service members.

 

Below is a schedule of Memorial Day ceremonies and events:

 

 

Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony

 • When: Sunday, May 25, 11 a.m. (Rain or shine)

 • Where: 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove

Memorial Day Ceremony – Navy Club Ship 40 Kenosha

 • When: Monday, May 26, 9 a.m.

 • Where: Navy Park, Sixth Avenue and 54th Street, Kenosha

 • Details: Includes National Anthem, “Eternal Father,” and flower and wreath dedication

Silver Lake Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade – American Legion Post 293

 • When: Monday, May 26

 • Ceremony: 9 a.m. in front of the American Legion Hall

 • Parade: Immediately following

 • Where: 307 N. Cogswell Drive, Silver Lake

Twin Lakes Memorial Day Events – American Legion Post 544

 • When: Monday, May 26

 • Ceremonies:

 • 9 a.m. – Mound Prairie Cemetery

 • 9:30 a.m. – St. John’s Cemetery

 • Parade: 11 a.m. from Lance Park to American Legion Post 544 (assembly begins at 10 a.m.)

 • Where: 989 Lance Drive, Twin Lakes

Memorial Day Ceremony – American Legion Post 21, Kenosha

 • When: Monday, May 26, 10 a.m.

 • Where: Green Ridge Cemetery, 6604 Seventh Ave., Kenosha

 • Details: Includes a special tribute marking the 70th anniversary of the War Memorial dedication

Sunset Ridge Memorial Park Ceremony – American Legion David Leet Post 552

 • When: Monday, May 26, 11 a.m.

 • Where: 4300 Green Bay Road, Kenosha

 • Details: Includes a reading of veterans interred in 2024–25, keynote by Kristen Paxton, a dove release, bagpipes, and a performance by singer Morgan Kelsey

Memorial Day Ceremony – VFW Post 7308, Pleasant Prairie

 • When: Monday, May 26, 11 a.m.

 • Where: Old St. Mark’s Cemetery, Ninth Court and 78th Street, Kenosha

Memorial Day & Flag Retirement Ceremonies – VFW Post 1865

 • When: Monday, May 26

 • Memorial Day Ceremony: Noon

 • Details: Includes a POW/MIA Service
