The Downtown Racine Corporation is delighted to inaugurate the 2025 First Fridays season with Creative Crawl on Friday, May 2, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM—a citywide celebration of artistic expression, creativity, and community engagement. This complimentary, family-friendly event extends an invitation to both local residents and visitors to explore a diverse range of interactive art installations, live musical performances, and pop-up exhibitions throughout the downtown area.
Participants may obtain an Arts Passport at the Artist Gallery, RAM, Hot Shop Glass, Vintage & Modern Books, or Reefpoint Brew House. By collecting stamps at participating locations, completed passports will be eligible for prizes, including downtown event tickets, gift cards, and additional incentives.
Key highlights of the evening include art-making stations and a live DJ at the Racine Art Museum, live glassblowing demonstrations and pop-up exhibits at Hot Shop Glass, and an open-house style artist meet-and-greet at Hotel Verdant featuring performances by the Racine Symphony. Local authors will engage in book readings and signings at Vintage Modern Books, while live sketching and performances will be dispersed throughout the district, courtesy of groups such as Racine Urban Sketchers and a featured cello performance at Photographic Design Gallery.
Additional participating businesses will showcase one-night-only art exhibitions, musical performances, and creative activities. Visitors can anticipate a variety of experiences, including kite-themed window displays and chalk art pathways, as well as DJs and live bands that will infuse the streets with energy and inspiration.
