The Downtown Racine Corporation proudly announces the resounding success of its warm clothing drive held during the recent Burr Crawl event on January 18th. In a heartwarming show of community spirit and generosity, patrons of the event donated 64 packs of brand-new socks and over 120 warm weather attire items including over 50 winter coats. All donations will be benefiting the HOPES Center of Racine, a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential items to residents in need.
The Burr Crawl, an event that brought together the community even in the chill of January, encouraged attendees to not only enjoy the festivities but also to contribute to a meaningful cause. The success of this initiative highlights the compassion and solidarity within our community, especially during the colder and more challenging months of the year.
Kelly Kruse, executive director of the Downtown Racine Corporation, expressed immense pride in the community’s response: “The outpouring of support we witnessed during the Burr Crawl’s warm clothing drive was nothing short of inspiring. It’s a profound reminder of the difference we can make when we come together. I am incredibly proud of our community’s generosity and spirit.”
Special thanks are extended to Marci’s on Main, which served as the collection site for this drive. Their participation and support were instrumental in the success of this initiative, providing a convenient location for community members to drop off their donations.
The Downtown Racine Corporation remains committed to supporting and organizing events that not only bring joy and entertainment to the community but also serve a greater purpose in helping those in need.
