Fall events, winter simulator season coming soon
With several weeks of play yet to come, Kenosha County’s golf courses have already broken the
season record number of rounds played, Gold Director Jim Wallace announced.
Through the first two weeks of October more than 115,000 rounds have been played this year at
Brighton Dale Links and Petrifying Springs Golf Course, Wallace said.
The previous record usage was just under 110,000 rounds played throughout the entire seasons
of 2021 and 2023.
“Over the past four years, the sport of golf has seen significant growth,” Wallace said. “The
health and well-being benefits of playing golf is something that really came to light through the
pandemic, and it’s been wonderful to see more folks take up the game, and even better to see
them choose our facilities.
Kenosha County has a few events remaining on the calendar before the golf courses close for the
season, Wallace said.
Brighton Dale’s annual “Halloween Horror” scramble event will be held Saturday Oct. 26.
Petrifying Springs hosts its 2024 Chili Open on Sunday, Nov. 10. Anyone looking to sign up for
either event can contact the golf shop at either facility.
Petrifying Springs will close for the 2024 season after the event on Nov. 10, and Brighton Dale
will officially close at the end of the day on Friday Nov. 22, Wallace said.
Golf simulators will be set up at Brighton Dale in November, and simulator league play will
begin in early December. The simulators feature Flightscope launch monitors and can be booked
by the hour on the Brighton Dale website, or by calling the golf shop at 262-697-4653.
