This summer, the Wisconsin Historical Society has brought its traveling History Makers Tour to the Wisconsin Welcome Center – Kenosha in the form of a photo opportunity. Visit Kenosha staff members chose the water ski pyramid photo that was taken in the Wisconsin Dells, in honor of the award-winning Aquanut Water Shows that take place in Twin Lakes all summer long. The installation is in place now and is expected to remain in place through the summer. Visitors to the center can step into the scene and look like they are a water skier in the pyramid!
This is the 52nd season for the award-winning Aquanut Water Shows, which take place on Lake Mary at Lance Park. The Aquanuts are six-time National Champions, the Wisconsin 2021 and 2022 State Title Winner, and one of the most successful water ski teams in the nation. They are famous for their daring stunts, and renowned for their Champion Ballet Line and breathtaking four-tier pyramids. Shows occur on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission and parking are free. Go to aquanutwatershows.com for more information.
The History Makers Tour is one way the Wisconsin Historical Society is continuing to serve learners and history lovers across the state in the time leading up to the opening of the new Wisconsin History Center in early 2027. The Wisconsin Historical Society ranks as one of the largest, most active, and most diversified historical societies in the nation, bringing programming and resources across the state as it fulfills its mission of connecting people to the past by collecting, preserving, and sharing stories.
The Wisconsin Welcome Center – Kenosha is located at I-94/41 and Hwy. 165 in the Wisconsin Rest Area.
